Monthly Critical Mass! @ Guadalupe Plaza Park | Houston | TX | US

Come to join us for the Critical Mass this month! Critical Mass is a casual bike ride event which happens on the last Friday every month!! This meetup event will be a mutual meetup event with the “Bike ride: Critical Mass” from “NEO Houston – Nature & Eclectic Outdoors”. Me and Alex will be hosting this event together.

Here are some important information:
1. The gathering location is at Guadalupe Plaza Park. We will meet at the corner of 2390 Ann st @ S Jensen, under a sign “Talento Billingue de Houston, a Latino Cultural Arts center”. Come at that corner and find a “silver/blue folding bike”! That will be me!

2. The ride is usually 13 to 15 miles. Will have a stop in the middle.

3. Please come to the gathering location before 7:30pm. The ride starts at 7:30pm and goes around to 10:30pm. We usually leave at 7:30pm sharp! Come early so won’t get left behind.

4. Critical Mass suggests parking in downtown Houston and riding the short distance to the plaza. There are some private parking lots around, approximately $10 per night I remember. There are also some free street parking spots but you might have to come earlier to get one! Light rail is also another good option.

5. Keep the pace being set by the ride leaders at the front of the group. This is not a race!!

6. Please “DO NOT” show aggression to vehicles. Drivers may sometimes show their frustration by honking or yelling at the mass. Please ignore them and keep the peace!

7. Please make sure your bike is in good condition before the event, such as tire pressure

8. Install your “front and rear lights”, and “WEAR YOUR HELMET!!! You have to protect yourself!!

9. Finally, enjoy the fun ride!!

Smile Every Mile – White Oak Bayou – 26 Mile Social Bike Ride – 9:30 AM @ Target-Heights
Jan 26 @ 8:30 am – 11:00 am

The Smile Every Mile Bike ride is 26 miles of the White Oak Bayou. This beautiful ride is perfect for getting to know your fellow riders, and to see a bit of Houston too. It is entirely paved, which accommodates both mountain bikes and road bikes. (Please note: This is not a training ride, rather we are focused on meeting other cyclists and enjoying a great workout! The training ride is at 6:30 am) Regular Group: Average 12 MPH pace At any time if you need to, you may turn around and head back. We will depart at 9:40 sharp regardless of who is or is not there, so please be sure to arrive a bit early 😀 IMPORTANT: You must complete the following waiver and emergency contact form to participate: https://signnow.com/s/F78ytSYc You only need to complete the waiver once per year. Special Note: Please bring what is needed to change a flat tire. This includes tube, a mini pump (or CO2 cartridges). I also recommend a small snack, as we take a few minute break at the 13 mile marker, and it can be beneficial to have a few calories for the way back.)
